Kenny — Lead
About the Job
Male, mid-20s, Black/Bahamian, gay. Tall, masculine-presenting, with a mild Bahamian accent. Kenny is intelligent, dryly funny, proud, deeply careful and deliberate in the choices he makes. As his asylum interview approaches, he becomes increasingly frightened by the possibility that an officer will not believe his sexuality and therefore his need for safety. He resists performing a stereotype, then experiments with a gender fluid presentation in ways that expose unexpected joy and vulnerability. Heavy dramatic role with movement/dance and choreographed intimate-content material. The character is written as 6'2" with broad shoulders; exact height flexible if the physical idea reads.
